ਆਕਲੈਂਡ : ਨਿਊਜ਼ੀਲੈਂਡ ਦੀ ਸਿਆਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੀ ਤਸਵੀਰ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਈ ਹੈ। ਨਵੇਂ ਅੰਕੜਿਆਂ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ 2026 ’ਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ political donations New Zealand National Party ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਜਦਕਿ coalition partner ACT New Zealand ਨੇ donations ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ’ਚ New Zealand Labour Party ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਿਊਜ਼ੀਲੈਂਡ ਦੇ Electoral Commission ਦੇ public donation records ਮੁਤਾਬਕ 2026 ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਤੋਂ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ National Party ਨੂੰ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ donations ਮਿਲੀਆਂ ਹਨ। Party ਨੂੰ ਕਈ business groups ਅਤੇ wealthy donors ਵੱਲੋਂ $20,000 ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ $100,000 ਤੱਕ ਦੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਚੈੱਕ ਮਿਲੇ ਹਨ।
ਅੰਕੜਿਆਂ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ National Party ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਸਾਲ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਅੱਧੇ ਮਿਲੀਅਨ ਡਾਲਰ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ donations ਮਿਲ ਚੁੱਕੀਆਂ ਹਨ। Party ਨੂੰ GMP Environmental Limited, Michael Sullivan, Garth Barfoot ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਕਈ ਵੱਡੇ donors ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ funding ਮਿਲੀ।
ਦੂਜੇ ਨੰਬਰ ’ਤੇ ACT Party ਰਹੀ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਕਰੀਬ $400,000 ਦੇ ਆਸ-ਪਾਸ donations ਇਕੱਠੀਆਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ। ACT ਨੂੰ toy manufacturer Nicholas Mowbray, Graeme Hart ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੀਆਂ entities ਅਤੇ ਕਈ business figures ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ donations ਮਿਲੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਗੱਲ ਇਹ ਰਹੀ ਕਿ ACT ਨੇ donations ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ’ਚ Labour Party ਨੂੰ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ। Labour ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਸਾਲ comparatively ਘੱਟ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ donations ਮਿਲੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ Phillip Mills ਵੱਲੋਂ $100,000 ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਕੁਝ donors ਦੀਆਂ contributions ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ।

ਉੱਧਰ New Zealand First ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਵੱਡੇ business donors ਵੱਲੋਂ strong support ਮਿਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। Party ਨੂੰ Sir Peter Vela, Brendan Lindsay ਅਤੇ GMP Environmental ਵਰਗੇ donors ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ donations ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ।
Political analysts ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ donations ਸਿਰਫ ਪੈਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ, ਇਹ election campaigning, advertising, digital promotion ਅਤੇ voter outreach ਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਵੀ ਬਣਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। 2026 election ਨੇੜੇ ਆਉਂਦੇ-ਆਉਂਦੇ ਇਹ financial battle ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਤੇਜ਼ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਨਿਊਜ਼ੀਲੈਂਡ ਵਿੱਚ 2023 ਤੋਂ donation transparency rules ਹੋਰ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਹੁਣ political parties ਨੂੰ $20,000 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਦੀ donation ਦੀ public reporting ਕਰਨੀ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ voters ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਿਹੜੀਆਂ parties ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹੜੇ sectors ਤੋਂ financial support ਮਿਲ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
